How to get Whatsapp work in your iPad/iPod Touch

This morning I’m planning to buy an iPod touch 4G as a valentine gift for my wife. Half way doing the check out process from Apple online store (Malaysia), I noticed from some forum saying that Whatsapp is stop working for iPod touch and iPad since version 2.5.7 onward! Because the developer want to restrict it. While that caused me to changed my decision not to complete the online order, and do some testing and research first.

After installed Whatsapp to iPad, i got an error message like this in, which is not surprise since last time already stop working:




And checking from several forum and their official Facebook discussion page, Seems like this is well known. Some said probably change to other app but everyone are using Whatsapp in my network, i’m not going to use Ping or TextPlus anyway! Even it is free, KaKaoTalk also not many people using it!

I decided to hack the app/device to get it work, and i managed to get it working on my iPad:



It need some tweak to get it work.

* Please note the method that i provided here just to help those who want to get their Paid Apps working on their iOS devices, my Whatsapp is paid and all i want is to get my Paid App work for all of my iOS device. Not restricted to what Developer tell me what to do.

Whatsapp team, got it? Your Whatsapp is cool, but restricted it for iPhone only is NOT COOL!

What you need?
Jailbroke iPad/iPod Touch with SSH access, or you can use iFile from Cydia
Whatsapp version 2.5.3, if you do not have this, you may need to find it somewhere.
Extra phone number, better with the number you didn’t activate it for Whatsapp on other device.
Optional – “Property List Editor” from mac to Edit the .plist file, but it may not necessary.
Step 1. Install Whatsapp version 2.5.3, activate it with your other mobile phone number that you going to use in your iPad/iPod touch for Whatsapp. First time setup you will prompt to allow Push notification, tap yes. And insert your mobile number to activate. After that you will received an error message said “Your device is failed to authorized, would you like to retry the authorizaion…” ignore and close the app.

Step 2. Upgrade your Whatsapp via iTunes from your PC/Mac to the latest version and sync it with your iPad/iPod touch.

Step 3. Open the Whatsapp again, you should see it is connected and working. If you still receive the error message like this:



Now open iFile (Search and install from Cydia), goto:

/System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app

Look for K48AP.plist (iPad) or N72AP.plist (iPod touch), tap and open it with “Property List Viewer”. Tap “Edit”

Under capabilities area, add these codes after the last line, just before the :



Save the file, respring your device, if you do not know how to respring, reboot then.

Open your Whatsapp, and it should be working now.

Actually at first i thought this is not necessary, but it seems like you need these codes to cheat the Whatsapp assume your device is Smartphone, not just iPad/iPod touch. As “telephony” checking is required for Whatsapp to work in version 2.6 onward.

How do you create an .ipa file?

To make a IPA the easy way...........

Step 1. download winrar or winzip and install it
Step 2. download any IPA
Step 3. right click on your IPA and select properties
Step 4. change the (open with program) to winrar-winzip click ok
Step 5. dbl click your IPA
Step 6. delete artwork and replace with yours
Step 7. delete folder payload and replace with yours
Step 8. close IPA and change the open with program back to itunes
Step 9. rename your IPA the title of the program your installing - done

【iPhone】JB之後一定要嘗試的：WeatherIcon

話說～上禮拜幫學弟JB後 就順手幫他弄了一些東西

因為他的iPhone有無限上網 所以就幫他來安裝一個好玩得東西～WeatherIcon

這是什麼東西勒 先看一下下圖 有沒有發現哪裡不對呢？！

有沒有發現右上角有溫度跟圖案顯示

這就是本次要為大家介紹的WeatherIcon

首先呢 先去Cydia搜尋WeatherIcon 然後安裝

(11/2更新)

今天幫同事安裝 已經更新到2.4.2.10版本了


安裝完之後 一樣按照之前的方式

將Status Bar的設定打開 respring後

結果就出要這個訊息～原來新版的要安裝libstatusbar

　

　

　

　

　

　

　

　

可是進去Cydia卻搜尋不到 原來要更改一下設定

進去Cydia後 進去manage裡面


然後按一下左上角的Settings

就會出現下面這個視窗 把你的設定改成Developer

然後再去搜尋就會找到libstatusbar這個軟體嚕

不過這個3.1.X版的不能裝喔 現在要到4.1版嚕


安裝完之後就可以看到

耶！！！出現嚕

而且新版的不用再去安裝圖示包就有嚕！！！

點進去以後勒 就會看到設定


將Status Bar裡面的兩個控制項

Show Image跟Show Temp打開 重新respring就ok嚕

不過這時候你應該會發現右上角只有秀出Temp但是卻沒有圖像對吧

請到這裡下載圖示包

下載完畢解壓縮以後

把附加檔的 com.ashman.WeatherIcon.plist
放到 /User/Library/Preferences跟 /System/Library/CoreServices /SpringBoard.app 裡面

把圖示包裡面的圖放到 /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app
裡

respring一次 搞定~!!

你就會看到你的Status Bars上面出現溫度跟圖案嚕

另外 順便一提～如果你注意看的話

原本桌面上天氣的圖示也會跟著變動喔

The correct command line would be:

NTFS junction point

In computing, an NTFS junction point is a feature of the NTFS file system that provides the ability to create a symbolic link to a directory which then functions as an alias of that directory. This has many benefits over a Windows shell shortcut (.lnk) file, such as allowing access to files within the directory via Windows Explorer, the Command Prompt, etc.

Junction points can only link to directories on a local volume; junction points to remote shares are unsupported.[1]

Junction points are a type of NTFS reparse point; they were introduced with NTFS 3.0, the default file system for Windows 2000 (Windows NT 5.0). The Windows 2000 and Windows XP Resource Kits include a program called linkd to create junction points; Mark Russinovich of Winternals released a tool called junction which provided more complete functionality. Windows NT 6.0 and later operating systems include an mklink command-line utility for creating junction points.

Are those iOS backups taking up too much space on your boot drive? While there’s no built-in function in the iTunes preferences menu for moving the archive folder, it’s a simple procedure on most platforms. While others have mentioned this in the past, I haven’t come across a single page with instructions for all major operating systems. For reference, the instructions are below:

■Close iTunes
■Move the existing ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/ folder to the destination drive (for example, named BigExternalDrive)
■Open a command prompt by launching Terminal and create a symbolic link using a command similar to the one below, replacing /Volumes/BigExternalDrive/Backup with the path to your destination:

You can't change the iTunes behavior, as far as I can tell.

However, you can use a feature of NTFS to point that folder to another drive. This feature is typically called a "junction" or "symbolic link".

You can use this tool to create a junction:

For example, let's say you want your iPhone backup to be D:\backup. You would do this:

1. close iTunes
2. Move the folder c:\documents and settings\user\application data\apple computer\mobile sync\backup to D:\

Windows 2000 and higher supports directory symbolic links, where a directory serves as a symbolic link to another directory on the computer. For example, if the directory D:\SYMLINK specified C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32 as its target, then an application accessing D:\SYMLINK\DRIVERS would in reality be accessing C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS. Directory symbolic links are known as NTFS junctions in Windows. Unfortunately, Windows comes with no tools for creating junctions—you have to purchase the Win2K Resource Kit, which comes with the linkd program for creating junctions. I therefore decided to write my own junction-creating tool: Junction. Junction not only allows you to create NTFS junctions, it allows you to see if files or directories are actually reparse points. Reparse points are the mechanism on which NTFS junctions are based, and they are used by Windows' Remote Storage Service (RSS), as well as volume mount points.

[教程]iPhone 4 更改運營商圖標的方法（附各大運營商圖標下載）

由於iphone 4的屏幕分辨率比原來的高，以前的修改方法無效了
可以自選任意圖標，圖標的格式只能是png，高度40像素，寬度不限
iphone4 需越獄，所需的軟件是iFunBox，搜索一下論壇有下載
註：如果只需要更文字的話可以在cydia 下載「Make It Mine」

新的方法如下：
1. 把圖標文件分別改名為Default_CARRIER_XXX@2x.png 和 FSO_CARRIER_XXX@2x.png
（XXX是你所用的iphone默認的運營商名字,
用iFunBox打開iphone的 private/var/mobile/Library/Carrier Bundle.bundle 裡面會有幾個png格式的文件，比如 Default_CARRIER_ China-Unicom.png，China-Unicom就是運營商名字）
2. 把改名後的兩個文件複製到 private/var/mobile/Library/Carrier Bundle.bundle 文件夾
3. 重啟

註：新的文件名後面必須有@2x，光覆蓋原有的文件是無效的，原有的文件也無需刪除


以下提供的圖標，下載解壓後把文件直接複製到 private/var/mobile/Library/Carrier Bundle.bundle文件夾後再重啟就可以了，（Default_CARRIER_XXX@2x.png和FSO_CARRIER_XXX@2x.png裡XXX的要和原 Default_CARRIER_XXX.png裡的XXX保持一致）

這個是我3G上面的備份檔 不曉得跟3Gs的一不一樣說～

請有要試著自己修改你的iPhone的人 一定要記得備份原始檔案唷～

昨天iPhone不知道怎麼了 重開機一直進入Safe mode

後來毅然決然～砍掉重練

但是…當然待機畫面又變回原來醜醜的樣子



所以趁著這次順便來教大家 怎麼把「移動滑桿來解鎖」那段文字修改掉

首先呢 先來下載pledit.exe這個軟體

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

剛發現 如果有更新iTunes到9.1版的話 會造成程式打不開的狀況

解決方法：

C:/Program Files/Common Files/Apple/Apple Application Support 這個檔案夾 copy到
C:/Program Files/Common Files/Apple/Mobile Device Support 這個目錄底下
然後將資料夾rename 成 bin

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

然後呢利用iFunbox連到這個路徑 /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/zh_TW.lproj/

應該會看到有一個檔案叫～ SpringBoard.strings

將那個檔案複製到電腦端來 然後利用剛剛下載的pledit那個程式將那個strings檔案打開

應該會看到密密麻麻一堆文字 利用搜尋 尋找「滑桿」這個字串

應該也會找到一堆tag吧 可以依照你自己的需求去修改

像我只有修改解鎖的那一串文字 所以就是找到

AWAY_LOCK_LABEL

移動滑桿來解鎖

修改中間的那一串文字就可以嚕

把改好的檔案存檔 然後再存到原本的路徑裡覆蓋掉原始檔案

respring就ok嚕～～～～

我是直接把他清空～就會變成這樣



如果你比較偷懶 可以直接下載我已經修改好的 SpringBoard.strings 檔案 然後覆蓋到iPhone上就好

不過我就只有修改解鎖唷～～～

HOW-TO DISABLE ANTI-PIRACY MESSAGE

There is a timebomb in this app that will cause it to stop working after a certain amount of time (like a week or two). You will know when this occurs as you will receive a notice that looks like this...



This ONLY HAPPENS when you install FolderEnahncer from the repo because the app has a security check that looks to see where the package was installed from. If you installed from anywhere other than the official source then you will receive this piracy notice AFTER the evaluation period has expired. When this happens the you must follow the instructions below to get the app working again.

1. Open Cydia and uninstall the version of FolderEnhancer Cracked that you installed from the
repo
2. Now download the latest version of FolderEnhancer right here FolderEnhancer v1.3.4.1-1

3. Now you must FTP into your phone using something like iSutal, WinSCP, or iFunBox
4. Navigate your way to the folder /private/var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall (If you get to
the Media folder and find that there is no Cydia folder then you just need to manually create
one. Same with the AutoInstall folder. THEY ARE CASE SENSITIVE!!)
5. Now drag&drop the FolderEnhancer deb file that you downloaded in step 2 into
the /private/var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall folder
6. Now just reboot your device so that FolderEnhancer will be installed
7. Then reboot your device once more to finalize everything

Enhance iOS 4's native folders!
iOS 4 brought with it the ability to put apps and bookmarks into folders. Unfortunately, the implementation is quite limited.

FolderEnhancer takes this feature and improves upon it, making it a viable solution for organizing and accessing your apps.

Features:

o Open folders faster.
o Add up to 320 icons to a folder (20 pages, 16 per page).
o Create folders inside of folders.
o Create folders on the dock.
o Supports Iconoclasm for custom layouts inside of folders.
o Extends MultiIconMover to allow moving multiple icons into/out of folders.
o Options include hiding the folder name and wallpaper, as well as disabling animations.


FolderEnhancer intregrates with and works as a part of the home screen application (SpringBoard).
Creating and opening folders is done as normal.
Closing a folder can be done by either tapping on an empty part of the folder, or by swiping downward.
To remove an icon from a folder, drag the icon over the dock area and either wait for the current folder to close, or drop the icon to remove it from all folders.
Note that icons can not be directly moved between folders and the dock, as this would interfere with moving icons to parent folders. Grabbing a dock icon while a folder is open will cause the folder to close.


Options:

Folder Name
(Default: On)

Off: The name of the folder will be hidden.
On: The name of the folder will be displayed above the icons in the open folder.

Folder Wallpaper
(Default: On)

Off: The background of the folder will be transparent, and the SpringBoard wallpaper will be visible.
On: An image file will be used for the background of the folder.

Animate Open/Close
(Default: On)

Off: When opening or closing a folder, the folder will appear without animating.
On: When opening or closing a folder, the folder will zoom in or out.

Clipping Window
(Default: On)

For the default background image, a clipping window is used to make it appear that the icons stay inside the rounded frame.

Whether or not one would want this enabled for a custom wallpaper image depends on the design of the image.

Off: Icons will remain visible up to the edge of the screen.
On: Icons will begin to disappear several pixels before reaching the left or right edge of the screen.

Note that this option has no effect when "Folder Wallpaper" is "Off".


Known Issue's:

iTunes-related

Because iTunes is not designed to handle subfolders or folders with more than 12 icons, it is not possible to use iTunes' icon layout feature.

FolderEnhancer uses IconSupport to prevent any errors with iTunes. Any attempt to change layout via iTunes will safely be ignored.

For rearranging icons rapidly, the developer recommends using the MultiIconMover extension.

FaQ's:

Can I use my own folder wallpaper image?

Yes. The image file is located at:

/System/Library/CoreServices/
SpringBoard.app/
FEFolderBG.png

(Use FEFolderBG@2x.png for devices with retina displays).

Overwriting this file is not recommended, though, as it will be replaced with each FolderEnhancer upgrade.

Instead, the recommended method is to use WinterBoard (by Jay Freeman, available for free via Cydia).

Where is feature X from CategoriesSB?

While FolderEnhancer is designed after CategoriesSB, it does not have all the same options.

One reason for this is that some of the options are either already built into iOS 4 (badges), or are always on (tap/swipe to close).

Another reason is that some options are not feasible with FolderEnhancer or iOS 4. One such option is the ability to hide the dock; if the dock were hidden, it would not be possible to drag icons out of a folder.

How to Fix Folder Enhancer "Piracy Hurt" Error

Some of you may get the below error while using “unauthorized” Folder Enhancer version 1.1.1-1, it’s because your evaluation period has expired, and you got to purchase it due to the effort of the developer. However, if you wish to continue to “evaluate” this fantastic software, you got to do something to remove the error. In this tutorial, i will guide you how to remove the “Piracy Hurt” error for your Folder Enhancer on your iPhone 4/3GS/3G.



1. Uninstalled the app in Cydia, go to Manage – Packages – FolderEnhancer – Modify – Remove
2. Launch your i-Funbox ( other SSH tools are working too )
3. Deleted /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/jp.ashikase.folderenhancer.plist
4. Download latest version of FolderEnhancer .deb file from here
5. Put the .deb into the cydia /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall/
6. Respring or Reboot your iPhone
